Shaddad bin Aws reported,

I have memorized two things from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "Allah has prescribed excellence in everything. So when you kill, kill well, and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let each one of you sharpen his blade and spare suffering to the animal he slaughters."

عن شداد بن أوس قال

حفظت من رسول الله ﷺ اثنتين أنه قال إن الله عز وجل كتب الإحسان على كل شيء فإذا قتلتم فأحسنوا القتلة وإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذبح وليحد أحدكم شفرته ثم ليرح ذبيحته
