We were with the Prophet ﷺ, a hundred and thirty of us, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, "Does any one of you have food with him?"It turned out that one man had a measure of food or something like it, and it was kneaded into dough. Then a tall, disheveled polytheist came along driving sheep.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Is this for sale, or is it a gift?" Or he said, "or a donation?"The man replied, "No, it is for sale."So he bought a sheep from him and it was prepared, and the Prophet of Allah ﷺ ordered that the liver be roasted.By Allah, there was not one of the hundred and thirty for whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not cut a slice of its liver. If the man was present, he gave it to him, and if he was absent, he set it aside for him.He made two large bowls from it, and we all ate and were satisfied, and there was still some left over in the two bowls, so we loaded it onto a camel. Or so he said.
حدثنا عارم حدثنا معتمر بن سليمان عن أبيه عن أبي عثمان
كنا مع النبي ﷺ ثلاثين ومائة فقال النبي ﷺ هل مع أحد منكم طعام فإذا مع رجل صاع من طعام أو نحوه فعجن ثم جاء رجل مشرك مشعان طويل بغنم يسوقها فقال النبي ﷺ أبيعا أم عطية أو قال أم هبة قال لا بل بيع فاشترى منه شاة فصنعت وأمر نبي الله ﷺ بسواد البطن أن يشوى قال وايم الله ما من الثلاثين والمائة إلا قد حز رسول الله ﷺ له حزة من سواد بطنها إن كان شاهدا أعطاه إياه وإن كان غائبا خبأ له قال وجعل منها قصعتين قال فأكلنا أجمعون وشبعنا وفضل في القصعتين فحملناه على بعير أو كما قال
