The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to straighten our shoulders during the prayer. Waki added that he would say, "Stand evenly and do not differ, lest your hearts differ. Let those of maturity and understanding stand closest to me, then those who come next, then those who come next."Abu Masud said, "And you today differ far more severely."
حدثنا وكيع وأبو معاوية قالا حدثنا الأعمش عن عمارة بن عمير التيمي عن أبي معمر عبد الله بن سخبرة الأزدي
كان رسول الله ﷺ يمسح مناكبنا في الصلاة قال وكيع ويقول استووا ولا تختلفوا فتختلف قلوبكم ليليني منكم أولو الأحلام والنهى ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم قال أبو مسعود فأنتم اليوم أشد اختلافا
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Muamar Azdi is Abdullah bin Sakhbarah, and he is trustworthy and excellent. The hadith was narrated by Muslim 1/323, no. 432, Abu Dawud 1/180, no. 674, Nasai 2/87, no. 807, and Tirmidhi 1/440, no. 228, who said, hasan sahih, and Ibn Majah 1/312, no. 976, and Darimi 1/324, no. 1266.
