Abu Masud Uqba bin Amr reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man from those who came before you was brought to account, and no good was found to his credit except that he was a wealthy man who used to deal with people, and he would tell his servants, 'Overlook the debts of those in hardship.'"The Prophet ﷺ continued, "So Allah said to His angels, 'We are more deserving of that than he is. Overlook his sins.'"

حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن شقيق

عن أبي مسعود قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ حوسب رجل ممن كان قبلكم فلم يوجد له من الخير شيء إلا أنه كان رجلا موسرا وكان يخالط الناس فكان يقول لغلمانه تجاوزوا عن المعسر قال فقال الله عز وجل لملائكته نحن أحق بذلك منه تجاوزوا عنه
