A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I sometimes hold back from attending the morning prayer because of so-and-so," meaning their imam.The narrator said, I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more angry in delivering an admonition than he was that day. He said, "People, some of you drive others away. Whoever leads the people in prayer should make it brief, for among them are the weak, the elderly, and those with pressing needs."
حدثنا يزيد حدثنا إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس بن أبي حازم
جاء رجل إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله والله إني لأتأخر في صلاة الغداة مخافة فلان يعني إمامهم قال فما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ أشد غضبا في موعظة منه يومئذ فقال أيها الناس إن منكم منفرين فأيكم ما صلى بالناس فليخفف فإن فيهم الضعيف والكبير وذا الحاجة
