The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who leads the people in prayer should be the one most versed in the Book of Allah and the earliest in having learned to recite it. If they are equal in recitation, then the one who emigrated earliest should lead them. If they are equal in emigration, then the eldest among them should lead. A man should not lead the prayer in another man's home or within his domain of authority, nor sit in his place of honor in his house, except with his permission."

عن النبي ﷺ قال يؤم القوم أقرؤهم لكتاب الله تعالى وأقدمهم قراءة فإن كانت قراءتهم سواء فليؤمهم أقدمهم هجرة فإن كان هجرتهم سواء فليؤمهم أكبرهم سنا ولا يؤم الرجل في أهله ولا في سلطانه ولا يجلس على تكرمته في بيته إلا أن يأذن لك أو إلا بإذنه
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ismail bin Raja Zubaydi is trustworthy, praised by the scholars, and his hadith is found in Muslim. Aws bin Damaj is trustworthy, one of the senior Mukhadramin among the Tabiin. The hadith has already been mentioned at 12602.
