Sufyan reported,

Some people said Ibn Mabad, but the one I memorized was Shibl. They said, We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man stood up and said, "I implore you by Allah to judge between us by the Book of Allah."Then his opponent stood up, and he was more knowledgeable than the first, and said, "He has spoken the truth. Judge between us by the Book of Allah , but permit me to speak."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Speak."He said, "My son was a hired worker for this man, and he committed adultery with his wife. I ransomed my son from him with a hundred sheep and a servant. Then I asked some men of knowledge, and they informed me that my son is liable to a hundred lashes and banishment for one year, while this man's wife is to be stoned."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I will judge between you both by the Book of Allah . The hundred sheep and the servant are returned to you, and your son is to receive a hundred lashes and banishment for one year. Unays, go in the morning to this man's wife, and if she confesses, stone her." Unays, a man from Aslam, went to her the next morning, and she confessed, so he stoned her.

حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري قال أخبرني عبيد الله بن عبد الله أنه سمع أبا هريرة وزيد بن خالد الجهني وشبلا قال

سفيان قال

بعض الناس ابن معبد والذي حفظت شبلا قالوا كنا عند رسول الله ﷺ فقام رجل فقال أنشدك الله إلا قضيت بيننا بكتاب الله فقام خصمه وكان أفقه منه فقال صدق اقض بيننا بكتاب الله عز وجل وأذن لي فأتكلم قال قل قال إن ابني كان عسيفا على هذا وإنه زنى بامرأته فافتديت منه بمائة شاة وخادم ثم سألت رجالا من أهل العلم فأخبروني أن على ابني جلد مائة وتغريب عام وعلى امرأة هذا الرجم فقال رسول الله ﷺ والذي نفسي بيده لأقضين بينكما بكتاب الله عز وجل المائة شاة والخادم رد عليك وعلى ابنك جلد مائة وتغريب عام واغد يا أنيس رجل من أسلم على امرأة هذا فإن اعترفت فارجمها فغدا عليها فاعترفت فرجمها
