Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Ashjai is Abu Ubayda bin Ubaydullah bin Abdul-Rahman, whose name is said to be Abbad. They graded him thiqa and praised him. The narrator transmitting from Thawri is thiqa and firm, and the rest are thiqat. Salih, the freed slave of Tawama, here has Sufyan Thawri narrating from him, and he narrated from him before his mixing up occurred. The hadith has already appeared at 17966.
