I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "After me there will be a time of strife. The one who sleeps through it will be better than the one who is awake, the one who sits through it will be better than the one who stands, and the one who stands will be better than the one who rushes about. Whoever is overtaken by it should walk with his sword to a rock and strike it until the blade breaks, then lie low until it passes."
حدثنا علي بن بحر قال حدثنا محمد بن حمير الحمصي قال حدثنا ثابت بن عجلان قال سمعت أبا كثير المحاربي يقول سمعت
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول ستكون من بعدي فتنة النائم فيها خير من اليقظان والقاعد فيها خير من القائم والقائم فيها خير من الساعي فمن أتت عليه فليمش بسيفه إلى صفاة فليضربه بها حتى ينكسر ثم ليضجع لها حتى تنجلي عما انجلت
