Wathila bin Asqa reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah chose Ismail from the descendants of Ibrahim, and chose Kinanah from the descendants of Ismail, and chose Quraysh from the descendants of Kinanah, and chose Banu Hashim from Quraysh, and chose me from Banu Hashim."

أن النبي ﷺ قال إن الله عز وجل اصطفى من ولد إبراهيم إسماعيل واصطفى من بني إسماعيل كنانة واصطفى من بني كنانة قريشا واصطفى من قريش بني هاشم واصطفاني من بني هاشم
