Ibn Abu Adi came to Maslama bin Muqlid in Egypt. There had been some friction between him and the doorkeeper, but when Maslama heard his voice, he gave him permission to enter. He said, "I have not come to you as a visitor, but I have come to you for a need. Do you remember the day Abbad said in his hadith that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever knows of a fault in his brother and conceals it, Allah will conceal his faults for him on the Day of Resurrection'?"Maslama replied, "Yes."He said, "It is for this that I have come."Ibn Abu Adi said in his version of the hadith, "Uqba bin Amir rode out to Maslama bin Muqlid, who was the governor of Egypt."
