Muawiya rarely narrated anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but there were certain words he seldom failed to mention or relate during Friday gatherings from the Prophet ﷺ. He said, "Whoever Allah wishes good for, He grants him understanding of the religion. This wealth is sweet and lush, so whoever takes it rightfully will be blessed in it. Beware of mutual flattery, for it is slaughter."

كان معاوية قلما يحدث عن رسول الله ﷺ شيئا ويقول هؤلاء الكلمات قلما يدعهن أو يحدث بهن في الجمع عن النبي ﷺ قال من يرد الله به خيرا يفقه في الدين وإن هذا المال حلو خضر فمن يأخذه بحقه يبارك له فيه وإياكم والتمادح فإنه الذبح
