I was among a gathering of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the presence of Muawiya, when Muawiya said, "I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the wearing of silk?"They replied, "By Allah, yes."He said, "And I too bear witness to that."He said, "I adjure you by Allah Almighty, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the wearing of gold except in small pieces?"They replied, "By Allah, yes."He said, "And I too bear witness to that."He said, "I adjure you by Allah Almighty, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade riding on leopard skins?"They replied, "By Allah, yes."He said, "And I too bear witness to that."He said, "I adjure you by Allah Almighty, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade drinking from silver vessels?"They replied, "By Allah, yes."He said, "And I too bear witness to that."He said, "I adjure you by Allah Almighty, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade combining Hajj and Amra?"They replied, "As for this, no."He said, "Indeed, it is among them."
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا همام قال حدثنا قتادة
كنت في ملإ من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ عند معاوية فقال معاوية أنشدكم الله أتعلمون أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن لبس الحرير قالوا اللهم نعم قال وأنا أشهد قال أنشدكم الله تعالى أتعلمون أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن لبس الذهب إلا مقطعا قالوا اللهم نعم قال وأنا أشهد قال أنشدكم الله تعالى أتعلمون أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن ركوب النمور قالوا اللهم نعم قال وأنا أشهد قال أنشدكم الله تعالى أتعلمون أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الشرب في آنية الفضة قالوا اللهم نعم قال وأنا أشهد قال أنشدكم الله تعالى أتعلمون أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن جمع بين حج وعمرة قالوا أما هذا فلا قال أما إنها معهن
