He informed him that while he was traveling with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, accompanied by a group of people on the way back from Hunayn, the bedouins surrounded him asking him for things until they pressed him against an acacia tree, which snatched away his cloak while he was on his mount. He stopped and said, "Return my cloak to me. Do you fear that I will be stingy? If I had camels equal to the number of these thorny trees, I would divide them among you, and you would not find me stingy, cowardly, or untruthful." ﷺAbu Abdul-Rahman said, Muamar made an error in the lineage of Umar bin Muhammad bin Amr. He is in fact Umar bin Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mutim.

أخبره بينا هو يسير مع رسول الله ﷺ ومعه ناس مقفله من حنين علقه الأعراب يسألونه فاضطروه إلى سمرة فخطفت رداءه وهو على راحلته فوقف فقال ردوا علي ردائي أتخشون علي البخل فلو كان عدد هذه العضاه نعما لقسمته بينكم ثم لا تجدوني بخيلا ولا جبانا ولا كذابا ﷺ قال أبو عبد الرحمن أخطأ معمر في نسب عمر بن محمد بن عمرو وهو عمر بن محمد بن جبير بن مطعم
