A man reported,
The Prophet said, "Horses are of three kinds. A horse that a man tethers in the path of Allah 
, its price is a reward, riding it is a reward, lending it is a reward, and feeding it is a reward.A horse upon which a man competes and gambles, its price is a sin and feeding it is a sin.And a horse kept for breeding, perhaps it will serve as a safeguard against poverty, if Allah the Exalted wills."

عن رجل من الأنصار
عن النبي قال الخيل ثلاثة فرس يربطه الرجل في سبيل الله عز وجل فثمنه أجر وركوبه أجر وعاريته أجر وعلفه أجر وفرس يغالق عليه الرجل ويراهن فثمنه وزر وعلفه وزر وفرس للبطنة فعسى أن يكون سدادا من الفقر إن شاء الله تعالى
Its isnad is sahih. Rukayn bin Rabi bin Umayla Fazari is a well-known reliable narrator, and his hadith is found in Muslim. Abu Amr Shaybani, Saad bin Iyas, is among the reliable narrators of the mukhadramin, and his hadith is found in all six collections. The hadith has already appeared at 8956 and is found in Bukhari 3/148, in the chapter on musaqah, people drinking, Muslim 2/680, number 977, and Tirmidhi 4/173, number 1636. Haythami said, 5/560, its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
