Nadr bin Shayban reported,

I met Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman and said, "Tell me something you heard from your father, which he heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ concerning the month of Ramadan."He replied, "Yes. My father told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah has made fasting in Ramadan an obligation, and I have made standing in prayer during its nights a sunnah. Whoever fasts it and stands in prayer during it seeking reward from Allah will emerge from his sins as on the day his mother gave birth to him.'"
