The Qassama, the oath concerning bloodshed, existed during the days of ignorance, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ confirmed it as it had been practiced before Islam. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged by it between some people from the Ansar of the tribe of Banu Haritha and the Jews, against whom they had brought a claim.

أن القسامة كانت في الجاهلية قسامة الدم فأقرها رسول الله ﷺ على ما كانت عليه في الجاهلية وقضى بها رسول الله ﷺ بين أناس من الأنصار من بني حارثة ادعوه على اليهود
