A man who served the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for eight years narrated that he heard the Prophet ﷺ, whenever his food was brought near him, say, "In the name of Allah." And when he finished his meal, he would say, "O Allah, You have fed and given drink, You have enriched and bestowed possessions, You have guided and given life. To You belongs all praise for what You have granted."
حدثنا أبو عبد الرحمن قال حدثنا سعيد بن أبي أيوب قال حدثني بكر بن عمرو عن عبد الله بن هبيرة
أنه حدثه رجل خدم رسول الله ﷺ ثمان سنين أنه سمع النبي ﷺ إذا قرب إليه طعامه يقول بسم الله وإذا فرغ من طعامه قال اللهم أطعمت وأسقيت وأغنيت وأقنيت وهديت وأحييت فلك الحمد على ما أعطيت
Its isnad is sahih. Its narrators are trustworthy Egyptians who have already been mentioned. Abu Abdul-Rahman is Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, a trustworthy narrator who has been mentioned many times. Saeed bin Abu Ayub the Egyptian is trustworthy, firm, and well known. Bakr bin Amr Maafiri was a leading scholar and mosque leader of Egypt, declared trustworthy and accepted by many, and his hadith appears in the Sahihayn. Abdullah bin Hubayra Hadrami the Egyptian is trustworthy, and has a narration in Muslim.The hadith was reported by Nasai in al-Kubra 4/202, number 6898, in the chapter on supplication after eating, and by Abu Shaykh in Akhlaq an-Nabi ﷺ 220, and by Ibn Sunni, 149, number 459.
