When the Prophet ﷺ made supplication asking for something, he would turn the palms of his hands toward himself, and when he sought refuge from something, he would turn the backs of his hands toward himself.
قال حدثنا يحيى بن إسحاق حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن حبان بن واسع
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا سأل جعل باطن كفيه إليه وإذا استعاذ جعل ظاهرهما إليه
