The Prophet ﷺ saw a man eating with his left hand and said, "Eat with your right hand."The man replied, "I cannot."The Prophet ﷺ said, "May you never be able to." Nothing prevented him from doing so except pride. After that, he could never raise it to his mouth again.
قال حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا عكرمة بن عمار
أن النبي ﷺ رأى رجلا يأكل بشماله فقال كل بيمينك فقال لا أستطيع فقال لا استطعت قال فما رجعت إليه
Its isnad is sahih. Its narrators are well known and have already been mentioned. The hadith appears in Muslim 3/1599, no. 2021, in the Book of Drinks, chapter on the etiquette of food and drink, and in Darimi 2/133, no. 2032, in the Book of Foods, chapter on eating with the right hand. It will be mentioned later that the one whose hand became paralyzed was Busr bin Rai al-Ir al-Ashjai.
