I dueled a man and killed him, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ awarded me his belongings as spoils.
حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا أبو عميس
بارزت رجلا فقتلته فنفلني رسول الله ﷺ سلبه
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Umays is Utba bin Abdullah bin Utba bin Abdullah bin Masud Huzali, trustworthy according to everyone. His hadith is found in the collection of the six, as mentioned earlier. Likewise, Iyas bin Salama bin Akwa is trustworthy according to them, and his hadith is found in the collection of the six.The hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah, 2/946, no. 2836, and Darimi, 2/289, no. 2451, and with similar wording by Bukhari, 6/168, no. 3051 in Fath, and Abu Dawud, 3/48, no. 2653. Its wording was mentioned shortly before, at 13910.
