Saeed bin Zayd reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned trials like patches of dark night. I think he said that people would perish in them with the swiftest of perishing.Someone asked, "Will all of them be destroyed, or only some?"He replied, "Killing will be enough for them."

عن سعيد بن زيد قال

ذكر رسول الله ﷺ فتنا كقطع الليل المظلم أراه قال قد يذهب فيها الناس أسرع ذهاب قال فقيل أكلهم هالك أم بعضهم قال حسبهم أو بحسبهم القتل
