Arwa bint Uways came to me with a group from Quraysh, among them Abdul-Rahman bin Amr bin Sahl. She said, "Saeed bin Zayd has taken part of my land into his own, what does not belong to him. I would like you to go to him and speak with him."So we rode out to him at his land in al-Aqiq. When he saw us, he said, "I know what has brought you here, and I will tell you what I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I heard him say, 'Whoever takes any portion of land that does not belong to him will have it placed around his neck down to the seventh earth on the Day of Resurrection, and whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr.'"
حدثنا يزيد أنبأنا محمد بن إسحاق عن الزهري
أتتني أروى بنت أويس في نفر من قريش فيهم عبد الرحمن بن عمرو بن سهل فقالت إن سعيد بن زيد قد انتقص من أرضي إلى أرضه ما ليس له وقد أحببت أن تأتوه فتكلموه قال فركبنا إليه وهو بأرضه بالعقيق فلما رآنا قال قد عرفت الذي جاء بكم وسأحدثكم ما سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ سمعته يقول من أخذ من الأرض ما ليس له طوقه إلى السابعة من الأرض يوم القيامة ومن قتل دون ماله فهو شهيد
Its isnad is sahih. Hafiz pointed out in Fath al-Bari 5:174 that it was also narrated through this route by Abu Yaala in his Musnad and Ibn Khuzayma in his Sahih. See 1628, 1640, 1641.
