Marwan said, "Go and reconcile between these two," referring to Saeed bin Zayd and Arwa.Saeed said, "Do you think I have taken anything that rightfully belongs to her? I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever takes a handspan of land unjustly will have it placed around his neck from seven earths. Whoever claims allegiance to a people as their freed slave without their permission, upon him is the curse of Allah. And whoever seizes a Muslim's property through a false oath, may Allah grant him no blessing in it.'"
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Harith bin Abdul-Rahman is the Qurashi, Amiri, Hijazi, and he is the maternal uncle of Ibn Abu Dhib. Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 1/270-271/2 and cited no criticism of him. Ibn Hibban listed him among the reliable narrators. Ahmad said, "I see no harm in him," and Nasai said the same. Abu Salama is Ibn Abdul-Rahman.Arwa is the daughter of Uways, as will come later at 1642. She is the one against whom Saeed bin Zayd prayed, because she had falsely brought a claim against him, asking that Allah blind her sight and make her grave in her own land. He had given up the land for her sake, and his prayer was answered. She went blind, and afterward, while walking on her land, she fell into a pit, which became her grave, as recorded in Sahih Muslim 1/473 through two routes. The hadith is found in Majma al-Zawaid 4/179, where it is also attributed in full to Abu Yaala and, in abridged form, to Bazzar. It will come again with this same chain at 1649. See also 1628, 1633, and 1639.
