I brought her some charity that he had ordered to be distributed. She asked, "Is it from one of our stepchildren? For Maymun or Mihran, the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ, told me that he once passed by the Prophet ﷺ, who said to him, 'Maymun,' or 'Mihran, we are a household forbidden from accepting charity, and our freed slaves are considered part of us, so we do not eat from charity.'"
قال حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا سفيان عن عطاء بن السائب قال
أتيتها بصدقة كان أمر بها قالت أحد ربائبنا فإن ميمون أو مهران مولى النبي ﷺ أخبرني أنه مر على النبي ﷺ فقال له يا ميمون أو يا مهران إنا أهل بيت نهينا عن الصدقة وإن موالينا من أنفسنا ولا نأكل الصدقة
