Drowsiness overcame us while we were in our ranks on the day of Badr. Abu Talha said, "I was among those overcome by drowsiness that day. My sword kept falling from my hand, and I would pick it up, and it would fall again, and I would pick it up once more."
حدثنا يونس حدثنا شيبان وحسين في تفسير شيبان عن قتادة قال وحدثنا أنس بن مالك أن
غشينا النعاس ونحن في مصافنا يوم بدر قال أبو طلحة وكنت فيمن غشيه النعاس يومئذ فجعل سيفي يسقط من يدي وآخذه ويسقط وآخذه
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Bukhari 8/228, no. 4562, Fath, in the tafsir of His saying, "a sense of security, [in] slumber," and in Tirmidhi 5/229, no. 3008, in the tafsir of Surah Al Imran, where he said, hasan sahih.
