Abu Qilaba reported,

People used to buy gold with silver on credit, with payment deferred until the time of the stipend distribution. Hisham bin Amir came upon them and forbade them from doing so, saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from selling gold for silver on credit, and he informed us," or he said, "and he told us that this is indeed riba."

كان الناس يشترون الذهب بالورق نسيئة إلى العطاء فأتى عليهم هشام بن عامر فنهاهم وقال إن رسول الله ﷺ نهانا أن نبيع الذهب بالورق نسيئة وأنبأنا أو قال وأخبرنا أن ذلك هو الربا
