Salman bin Amir reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "With every newborn boy there is an aqiqah, so shed blood on his behalf and remove the harm from him."He said, I also heard him say, "Your charity given to a poor person counts as charity, but when given to a relative it counts as two: charity and the upholding of kinship ties."

حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن هشام قال حدثتني حفصة

عن سلمان بن عامر قال

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول مع الغلام عقيقته فأهريقوا عنه دما وأميطوا عنه الأذى قال وسمعته يقول صدقتك على المسكين صدقة وهي على ذي الرحم ثنتان صدقة وصلة
