I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Charity given to the poor is simply charity, but charity given to a relative is two things at once, charity and the maintenance of family ties."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا هشام عن حفصة
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول الصدقة على المسكين صدقة والصدقة على ذي الرحم اثنتان صدقة وصلة
