The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon in which he mentioned the she-camel and the man who hamstrung her. He recited, "When the most wretched of them rushed forth" [Shams 91:12]. He explained that the one who set out to kill her was a violent man, powerful and well-protected within his clan, like Abu Zamah. Then he spoke about women and admonished the people concerning them, saying, "Why does one of you flog his wife the way a slave is flogged, when he may well lie with her at the end of the day?"Then he admonished them about laughing at the passing of wind, saying, "Why does one of you laugh at something he himself does?"
