I prayed the afternoon prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he gave the closing salutation, he stood up quickly and went in to one of his wives, then came out. He noticed the look of astonishment on the faces of the people at his haste, and he said, "I remembered, while I was in the prayer, some gold we had. I disliked that it should remain with us into the evening or through the night, so I gave orders for it to be distributed."
