The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I declare sacred the area between the two lava fields of Madinah, just as Ibrahim declared his sanctuary sacred. Its thorny trees are not to be cut, and its game is not to be hunted. No one leaves it out of dislike for it without Allah replacing him with someone better. Madinah is better for them, if only they knew. No one intends harm against its people without Allah causing him to melt away as lead melts in fire, or as salt dissolves in water."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا عبد الواحد بن زياد أنبأنا عثمان بن حكيم
قال رسول الله ﷺ إني أحرم ما بين لابتي المدينة كما حرم إبراهيم حرمه لا يقطع عضاهها ولا يقتل صيدها ولا يخرج منها أحد رغبة عنها إلا أبدلها الله خيرا منه والمدينة خير لهم لو كانوا يعلمون ولا يريدهم أحد بسوء إلا أذابه الله ذوب الرصاص في النار أو ذوب الملح في الماء
