We were sitting on a rooftop, and with us was a man from among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. Yazid said, "I know him only as Abs al-Ghifari." The people were discussing the plague when Abs said, "Plague, take me," repeating it three times.Aleem said to him, "Why are you saying this? Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ not say, 'None of you should wish for death, for once a person's deeds come to an end, he cannot be returned to seek Allah's pleasure'?"He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Hasten to meet death before six things appear: the rule of fools, the multiplication of police, the sale of justice, the taking of bloodshed lightly, the severing of family ties, and a generation that treats the Quran like musical instruments, putting forward to lead them in prayer one who can sing it for them, even if he has less understanding of religion than they do.'"
