We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day when a man came with a plate of dates on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "What is this? Is it charity or a gift?"The man replied, "Charity."So he placed it before the people. Hasan, may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, was playing in the dust in front of him, and the child took a date and put it in his mouth. The Prophet ﷺ put his finger into the child's mouth, pulled out the date, and threw it away. Then he said, "We, the family of Muhammad, are not permitted to take charity."I asked Muarrif, "Was Abu Umayr your grandfather?"He answered, "He was my father's grandfather."
قال حدثنا حسن بن موسى قال حدثنا معروف عن حفصة بنت طلق عن أبي عميرة أسيد بن مالك جد معروف قال كنا جلوسا عند رسول الله ﷺ فذكر مثله
