I came to Sahl bin Hunayf and said, "Tell me what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding the Haruriyyah."He replied, "I will tell you only what I heard, without adding anything to it. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention a people who would emerge from over there." He pointed with his hand toward Iraq. "They recite the Quran, but it does not pass beyond their throats. They pass out of the religion the way an arrow passes through its target."I asked, "Did he mention any distinguishing mark for them?"He said, "This is what I heard, I will not add anything to it for you."
