The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Affliction will come from a people in the east whose heads are shaven."He was then asked about Medina, and he said, "It is sacred and safe, sacred and safe."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أنبأنا العوام قال حدثني أبو إسحاق الشيباني عن يسير بن عمرو
قال رسول الله ﷺ بلية قوم قبل المشرق محلقة رءوسهم وسئل عن المدينة فقال حرام آمن حرام آمن
Its isnad is sahih. Its narrators are trustworthy and reliable. Awwam is Ibn Hawshab Shaybani, Abu Isa Wasiti, who is trustworthy, reliable, and virtuous, and likewise Abu Ishaq Shaybani bin Abu Sulayman. Similar to them is Yusayr bin Amr Kufi, who is one of the Tabiin and had a sighting of the Prophet. The hadith was narrated by Muslim, 2/750, number 1068, in the chapter on zakat, "The Khawarij are the worst of creation."
