I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution, and he performed it thoroughly. He said, Rubai, whenever she performed ablution, would perform it thoroughly.
حدثنا عثمان بن محمد وسمعته أنا من عثمان بن محمد بن أبي شيبة قال حدثنا سعيد بن خثيم الهلالي قال سمعت جدتي ربيعة ابنة عياض قالت سمعت
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ توضأ فأسبغ الوضوء قال وكانت ربعية إذا توضأت أسبغت الوضوء
Its chain of transmission is hasan, because of Saeed bin Khuthaym Hilali Abu Muamar Kufi, of whom they said, "He makes mistakes and has errors." As for Rabia bint Ayyad, Ajli and Ibn Hibban rated her trustworthy, and it was said that she had companionship with the Prophet. The hadith about perfecting the wudu is found in the Sahihayn, narrated by Bukhari 1/339 no. 139 Fath, and Muslim 1/206/1 no. 227m, see also 16796.
