He informed him that two brothers from the Banu Mughira had a dispute. One of them swore an oath that he would not allow the other to fix a wooden beam into his wall. They met Majma bin Yazid al-Ansari along with many other men, who said, "We bear witness that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No neighbor should prevent his neighbor from fixing a wooden beam into his wall.'"The one who had taken the oath said, "My brother, I now know that judgment will be given against me in your favor, but I have already sworn an oath. So place a column beside my wall."The other did so, and then fixed his beam into the column.Amr said to me, "I myself saw this."
حدثنا حجاج قال ابن جريج أخبرني عمرو بن دينار عن هشام بن يحيى أخبره أن
أخبره أن أخوين من بني المغيرة أعتق أحدهما أن لا يغرز خشبا في جداره فلقيا مجمع بن يزيد الأنصاري ورجالا كثيرا فقالوا نشهد أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا يمنع جار جاره أن يغرز خشبا في جداره فقال الحالف أي أخي قد علمت أنك مقضي لك علي وقد حلفت فاجعل أسطوانا دون جداري ففعل الآخر فغرز في الأسطوان خشبة فقال لي عمرو فأنا نظرت إلى ذلك
