The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the best form of earning. He replied, "An honest sale and a man's work with his own hands."
حدثنا أسود بن عامر قال حدثنا شريك عن وائل
سئل النبي ﷺ عن أفضل الكسب فقال بيع مبرور وعمل الرجل بيده
Its chain of transmission is hasan due to Sharik and Jamee, and the hadith was narrated by Tabarani in Al-Kabir 4/277, no. 4411. Haythami, 4/60, pointed out the disagreement concerning Jamee, and likewise Munziri in Targheeb 2/523. Hakim graded it sahih, 2/10, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has already appeared at 8676.
