Umm Mubashir said to Kaab bin Malik, while he was ill, "Convey my greetings to my son," meaning Mubashir. He replied, "May Allah forgive you, Umm Mubashir. Have you not heard what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said? 'The soul of a Muslim is but a bird that perches on the trees of Paradise until Allah returns it to its body on the Day of Resurrection.'"She said, "You have spoken the truth. I seek forgiveness from Allah."
