During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, there were two calls to prayer. When the time of Uthman came and the people had grown in number, he ordered the first call to be made at az-Zawra.
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا ابن أبي ذئب عن الزهري
كان الأذان على عهد رسول الله ﷺ وأبي بكر وعمر رضي الله تعالى عنهما أذانين حتى كان زمن عثمان فكثر الناس فأمر بالأذان الأول بالزوراء

Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Abu Dhib is Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Dhib, a well-known and celebrated jurist. The hadith has already appeared at 15650.
