A man from the tribe of Aslam was stung, and this was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you had said when evening came, 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,' it would not have harmed you."Suhayl said, "Whenever any of us was stung, my father Ubayy would ask whether the person had recited it. If they said yes, he considered it would not harm them."

عن رجل من أسلم أنه لدغ فذكر ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال النبي ﷺ لو أنك قلت حين أمسيت أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق لم يضرك قال سهيل فكان أبي إذا لدغ أحد منا يقول قالها فإن قالوا نعم قال كأنه يرى أنها لا تضره
Its isnad is sahih. Suhayl bin Abu Salih was deemed reliable by the scholars, and all the compilers of the six books narrated from him except Bukhari, who cited him only alongside another narrator, because he underwent a change in his memory. Shubah narrated from him before that change occurred. His father, Abu Salih Samman, whose name was Zakwan, was a reliable and firmly established authority in hadith. This hadith has already appeared at 8866 with a similar wording, and it is found in the Sahihayn.
