I slapped a servant of ours, then I came and found my father at the noon prayer, so I prayed with him. When he finished, he took me by the hand and said, "Take retaliation from him." But the servant pardoned me.Then he began to relate, "We, the sons of Muqarrin, were seven during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we had only one female servant. One of us slapped her, and news of it reached the Prophet ﷺ."He said, "Free her."They said, "We have no servant other than her."He said, "Then let them keep her in service, and when they no longer need her, let them set her free."
حدثنا ابن نمير حدثنا سفيان عن سلمة
لطمت مولى لنا ثم جئت وأبي في الظهر فصليت معه فلما سلم أخذ بيدي فقال اتئد منه فعفا ثم أنشأ يحدث قال كنا ولد مقرن على عهد رسول الله ﷺ سبعة ليس لنا إلا خادم واحدة فلطمها أحدنا فبلغ النبي ﷺ فقال أعتقوها فقالوا ليس لنا خادم غيرها قال فليستخدموها فإذا استغنوا فليخلوا سبيلها
