The Prophet ﷺ said to him and to his companion, "When the time for prayer arrives, give the call to prayer and the iqamah." On another occasion he said, "Then give the iqamah, and let the elder of you lead you in prayer."Khalid said, I asked Abu Qilaba, "What about recitation of the Quran?"He replied, "The two of them were close to each other in that regard."
حدثنا إسماعيل عن خالد الحذاء عن أبي قلابة
أن النبي ﷺ قال له ولصاحب له إذا حضرت الصلاة فأذنا وأقيما وقال مرة فأقيما ثم ليؤمكما أكبركما قال خالد فقلت لأبي قلابة فأين القراءة قال إنهما كانا متقاربين
