"Messenger of Allah, which people are tested most severely?"He replied, "The prophets, then those who most resemble them, then those next in rank. A servant is tested according to the strength of his faith. If his faith is firm, his trial is increased accordingly," and once he said, "his trial is more severe, and if there is weakness in his faith, he is tested according to that," and once he said, "according to his faith." He said, "Trials do not cease to afflict the servant until he walks upon the earth without a single sin remaining upon him."Ubayy said, and once he said, narrating from Saad, "I said, Messenger of Allah."
حدثنا إسماعيل يعني ابن إبراهيم أنبأنا هشام الدستوائي عن عاصم بن بهدلة عن مصعب بن سعد قال
يا رسول الله أي الناس أشد بلاء قال الأنبياء ثم الأمثل فالأمثل حتى يبتلى العبد على قدر دينه ذاك فإن كان صلب الدين ابتلي على قدر ذاك وقال مرة أشد بلاء وإن كان في دينه رقة ابتلي على قدر ذاك وقال مرة على حسب دينه قال فما تبرح البلايا عن العبد حتى يمشي في الأرض يعني وما إن عليه من خطيئة قال أبي وقال مرة عن سعد قال قلت يا رسول الله
