Ibn Abu Hadrad reported,

A Jewish man was owed four dirhams by him, so he brought a complaint against him and said, "Muhammad, this man owes me four dirhams and he has refused to pay me."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Give him his due."He replied, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I cannot manage it."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Give him his due."He said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I cannot manage it. I have already told him that you are sending us to Khaybar, and I hope that we will gain some spoils, then I will return and pay him."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Give him his due."The Prophet ﷺ would not be addressed again on a matter once he had spoken three times. So Ibn Abu Hadrad took him out to the market, with a band around his head and wearing a cloak as a lower garment. He removed the turban from his head and wrapped it around his waist, then took off the cloak and said, "Buy this cloak from me." The man bought it from him for four dirhams.An old woman passed by and said, "What is the matter, companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He told her what had happened. She said, "Here, take this," and she gave him a cloak that she threw over him.

حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق حدثنا حاتم بن إسماعيل المدني قال حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد بن أبي يحيى عن أبيه

عن ابن أبي حدرد الأسلمي

أنه كان ليهودي عليه أربعة دراهم فاستعدى عليه فقال يا محمد إن لي على هذا أربعة دراهم وقد غلبني عليها فقال أعطه حقه قال والذي بعثك بالحق ما أقدر عليها قال أعطه حقه قال والذي نفسي بيده ما أقدر عليها قد أخبرته أنك تبعثنا إلى خيبر فأرجو أن تغنمنا شيئا فأرجع فأقضيه قال أعطه حقه قال وكان النبي ﷺ إذا قال ثلاثا لم يراجع فخرج به ابن أبي حدرد إلى السوق وعلى رأسه عصابة وهو متزر ببرد فنزع العمامة عن رأسه فاتزر بها ونزع البردة فقال اشتر مني هذه البردة فباعها منه بأربعة الدراهم فمرت عجوز فقالت ما لك يا صاحب رسول الله ﷺ فأخبرها فقالت ها دونك هذا ببرد عليها طرحته عليه
