The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while on the road to Mecca, said, "Who will go ahead of us to al-Athayah?" Abu Uways explained that this was the place where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us ahead, so that one would seal the basin with clay, draw water in advance, and fill it before we arrived.Jabbar said, "I stood up and said, 'I will.'"He said, "Go." So I went, reached al-Athayah, sealed its basin with clay, drew water, and filled it. Then my eyes overcame me and I fell asleep. I did not wake until a man arrived whose mount was pulling toward the water as he held it back. He called out, "Owner of the basin!"It was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said, "Yes."He brought his mount to drink, then turned aside, made it kneel, and said, "Follow me with the water vessel."So I followed him with it. He performed ablution, and did so excellently, and I performed ablution along with him. Then he stood to pray, and I stood on his left. He took my hand and moved me to his right side, and we prayed. It was not long before the people arrived.
حدثنا حسين بن محمد حدثنا أبو أويس حدثنا شرحبيل
قال رسول الله ﷺ وهو بطريق مكة من يسبقنا إلى الأثاية قال أبو أويس هو حيث نفرنا رسول الله ﷺ فيمدر حوضها ويفرط فيه فيملأه حتى نأتيه قال قال جبار فقمت فقلت أنا قال اذهب فذهبت فأتيت الأثاية فمدرت حوضها وفرطت فيه وملأته ثم غلبتني عيناي فنمت فما انتبهت إلا برجل تنازعه راحلته إلى الماء ويكفها عنه فقال يا صاحب الحوض فإذا رسول الله ﷺ فقلت نعم قال فأورد راحلته ثم انصرف فأناخ ثم قال اتبعني بالإداوة فتبعته بها فتوضأ وأحسن وضوءه وتوضأت معه ثم قام يصلي فقمت عن يساره فأخذ بيدي فحولني عن يمينه فصلينا فلم يلبث يسيرا أن جاء الناس
