He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have accepted Islam."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Cast off from yourself the hair of disbelief," meaning, shave it off.He said, another companion of his informed me that the Prophet ﷺ said to another man, "Cast off from yourself the hair of disbelief and get circumcised."

أنه جاء النبي ﷺ فقال قد أسلمت فقال ألق عنك شعر الكفر يقول أحلق قال وأخبرني آخر معه أن النبي ﷺ قال لآخر ألق عنك شعر الكفر واختتن
Its chain of transmission is daif, because it is disconnected, since Ibn Jurayj did not name the intermediary between himself and Utheim. Abu Dawud narrated the hadith from the route of Abdul-Razzaq from him, with this wording, in 1/97, number 356, in the chapter on purification, on the man who accepts Islam and is ordered to perform ghusl. It is also found in its original source in Abdul-Razzaq, 6/9, number 9835, in the chapter on purification, on what is required of the one who accepts Islam. Bayhaqi also has it similarly, 1/172.
