The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray four rakahs before the noon prayer after the sun had passed its zenith, and he would say, "The gates of heaven are opened at this time, so I love to send forth in them a righteous deed."
حدثنا أبو داود الطيالسي قال حدثنا محمد بن مسلم بن أبي الوضاح عن عبد الكريم عن مجاهد
كان رسول الله ﷺ يصلي قبل الظهر بعد الزوال أربعا ويقول إن أبواب السماء تفتح فأحب أن أقدم فيها عملا صالحا

Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad bin Muslim bin Abu Wadah, Abu Saeed the tutor, is well known by his kunya, and Abdul-Kareem is Ibn Malik Jazari, and all of them are trustworthy.The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud, 2/23, no. 1269, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on the four rakahs before Dhuhr, and by Tirmidhi, 2/293, no. 428, in the Book of Prayer Times, chapter on what has been said about prayer after midday, where he said, hasan sahih gharib, and by Ibn Majah, 1/366, no. 1157, in the Book of Establishing Prayer, chapter on the four rakahs before Dhuhr, and by Hakim, 3/461, and Dhahabi remained silent on it.
