The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed on the day of the Conquest and placed his sandals on his left side.Abdullah said, "I heard this hadith from my father three times."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن ابن جريج قال حدثني محمد بن عباد بن جعفر عن عبد الله بن سفيان
أن رسول الله ﷺ صلى يوم الفتح فوضع نعليه عن يساره قال عبد الله سمعت هذا الحديث من أبي ثلاث مرار
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muhammad bin Abbad bin Jafar and Abdullah bin Sufyan are both Makhzumi Qurashi and are reliable narrators. The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud 1/175, no. 648, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on praying in sandals, and Nasai 2/74, no. 776, in the Book of the qibla, chapter on where the imam should place his sandals, and Ibn Majah 1/460, no. 1431, with similar wording, and Darimi 1/370, no. 1377, with wording similar to Abu Dawud.
